Lapzos Beads on Private Practice Season 3
My Kiosk 'Lapzos Beads' was featured yesterday on the ABC TV Show 'Private Practice'. Yeah and I got to be an extra on it too !!! I had to open up a Kiosk to be on TV - if I only knew that when I first moved to LA to become an actor.

The after effect of the LA Times article
After I was featured in the LA Times I had many amazing interactions with the public of Santa Monica and its sourrounding area. I was asked several times a day if I was the one in the newspaper. Wow ! I soon realized that I had reached a level of a public figure on the Promenade (okay only for a few days or weeks - but still).
It was soooo nice how people stopped by on their way to work or came by while running their errands just to congratulate me on the article. Many of them told me about their admiration for my courage and gave me their blessings and good luck wishes. Each one of them told me how they hoped that business will be going great for me and how they will tell their friends and family about my kiosk !
So, so sweet !
And then of course there are some funny stories that came my way too:
One family of 7 came by the Kisok with the newspaper in their hands asking me if I was the one on the front page. They said they saw it and came especially just to take a picture. I doubt they were from LA. It was very funny to me to have an entire family sitting in front of the kiosk and posing for a picture. Who knew ?
Another couple came all the way from San Jose. They have a patent for a ***** (won't say what it is but it has beads and feathers on it). My employee was working that day and suggested to leave a picture for me. However that wasn't an option without signing a disclosure form first. (What a shame.) They were very determinated but either way I'm only allowed to carry one type of product and that's rocks and jewelry.
Another gentlemen came and showed me part of a beaded curtain. Yup a beaded curtain that hung in a store 40 or 50 years ago as a back-drop. He told me that He read the article and said to himself 'This girl needs beads!' As much as I wanted to help him and buy it I don't sell glass at my kisok. I sent him to the kiosk near me that carries venetian glass jewelry and He sent him to yet antoher kiosk. I assume the gentlemen had a nice stroll down the Promenade meeting all the kiosk people that day ...
One gentlemen came my way with a box of jewelry from the 50's. He told me that his son suggested for him to just toss the box out in the corbage but when He saw the article He figured He could sell it to me instead. I thought that was a rather odd thing to share with me. I did end up buying the box :) for a small amount and found some really amazing things in there. When I took the box home an intense smell of marihuana came up to my nose. There wasn't any in it but I sure looked hard.
One interaction I want to share because I found it so LA and honestly very funny :) ! I received an email from a certain someone if I was interested in doing a short film 'Me and My Kiosk'. I thought it could be a cute idea and told him to meet me at the Kisok and let me know what he had in mind. Ha, ha ! I was supposed to be me doing what I'm doing - that was the concept. He was astonished over my reaction and said 'You don't seem to be excited!'. What can I say ?

LA Times Front Page of the business Section October 20, 2009
I became one lucky girl when I decided to open up a kiosk on Third Street Promenade in October 2009. Two weeks into the adventure I was asked to be interviewed by the LA Times on people that own a kiosk.
Not only was I interviewed I was photographed and put on the front page of the Business Section and it ended up being a two page article with several pictures of me. Wow !!!
What I realized in general about life is, that wenever we take a plunge into the unknown and get out of our savety net the universe will show us eventually if we made the right decision. It became clear to me that I was on the right way. I'm feeling blessed in every which way.
Who knows what the future will bring but taking a stand and risking a little can be very rewarding, if the end result is good or bad it doesn't matter. It's a way of growing and not standing still underneath a clowd thinking that's the only way to live.
Thank you universe !!!
